Communication was terrible, waited 12 hours for a bed
Nurses were lovely and caring once I was being looked after
I was there from 11.30 am till 9.45 pm. The lack of staff was unexceptionable. I was told I needed and bladder scan before they die coded if an mri was needed. The scan was nowhere to be seen so was sent home. My gp sent me to A&E for an mri and I was seen for a matter of minutes in all that time.
Between 5pm and 8pm no doctor was on to see patients so they que’s got bigger and bigger.
I will never choose to go to queens hospital A&E department again.
The doctor was supposed to see me and discuss my CT scan results and didn't. He/ she left the area and not discussed it with me. I was given a piece of paperwork instead...thanks for the personal touch...not
Constantly ignored when I called for help. Refused to give me food till I started crying for it
Suddenly woken up at 4am by charge nurse and told to leave the department as discharged. Staff didn’t believe me when I said I was a patient. Horrible experience to witness staff openly maltreat you while being so nice and supportive to other patients. Discrimination. J hi ope they go through the same treatment from someone else.
Waiting time 7-8 hours to see an doctor is just ridiculous.
My 3 year old son is being Waiting and struggling to breeding from 1:30 am to 8:00 am is just unbelievable to be honest.
Only on doctor for 40 patients for children and adults.
Very disappointed about the way is manage all the patients.
I was looked after ok by all the staff
The answers I have given were due to the distressing experience I endured whilst in A+E on Tuesday 14th-Wendesday 15th June 2022. This entailed:
-a lack of empathy, understanding and care demonstrated by members of staff.
-current A+E ‘protocols’ are not relevant to all patients and are therefore a waste of time and NHS resources. In addition to this, they do not make reasonable adjustments for identified patients.
-an unprofessional attitude, demeanour, language and tone used by several members of staff towards me.
-a lack of communication from staff.
-the significant waiting times.
-I was made to feel as though I was an inconvenience and time waster.
-I was not issued with Diazepam (2mg) for over 5 hours, despite requesting it and medical records on me to support the need for them.
-I was publicly humiliated in front of other patients by a doctor on two separate occasions.
-several staff had a dismissive attitude and sarcastic manner when liaising with me.
-a lack of information was shared by staff during hand-over shifts.
-the A+E experience has exacerbated my diagnosed phobia.
The staff were all very kind and helpful.
